I’ve always loved working with numbers as well as with people – so a career in finance seemed an obvious choice. With 25 years experience in finance, operating at director level, I would like to think that by skilfully managing the finances I’ve made a positive difference to the organisations I’ve worked with.
In my current role as Group Financial Controller, I have the opportunity to apply my skills and financial expertise to support the continued success of four socially committed organisations. Each business entity provides specialist services to improve the lives of vulnerable children, young people and adults in the community.
With relationships, people and communication being the heart of what I represent, my current role fulfills so many personal values. I am motivated by supporting others, bringing out the best in people and helping them in achieving their own goals.
Outside of work, I am a proud mum to two young adults. My eldest son Josh Jones was attacked in 2018, aged 18, when he witnessed his close friend Matthew Hayden sustain a traumatic brain injury. Although Josh only received minor physical injuries, the mental scars will stay with him forever. I am also a friend of Maxine Hayden and when I heard about the idea of the support group ‘After Matters’ I couldn’t resist offering my financial expertise. As a trustee and treasurer, I hope to add value to the group and help support young people and their families who are going through a difficult time in their lives.
